I think that Sal and Phoebe will spy on Mrs. Cadaver. I think they would do this because they want to find out about Mrs. Cadavrar and they want to find out what happened to Mr.Cadavar.
I think that also, but instead of Sal and Phoebe spying on Mrs. Cadaver they would simply ask Mrs Partridge about Mr. Cadaver because Mrs. Partridge likes them and she would be happy to tell them all about Mr. Cadaver.
I think that Sal's mom had a child, and that's why Sal's dad took her away to live by Margret. Then when Sal, Gram's and Gramp's get there, Sal will live with her mom.
I think that Sal's mom had a miscariage trying to do something nice, attempting to be as kind as a Hiddle. I think she got depressed, so she went of on roadtrip to clear her mind. I think she didn't want to go home and face the pain of memories, so she stayed in Lewiston.
I think the lunatic will come to talk to Phoebe's mom again and Phoebe will start becoming even more over dramatic about who the lunatic is and what he wants. I also think that Sal's mom never did give birth to her second child because Sal didn't mention anything about her sibling living with her mom.
I think that Mrs.Cadaver didn't kill her husband I think that they just got in a divorce, a long time ago. I predict that Ben likes Sal and I also predict that she likes him to that’s why she gets that feeling, the feeling when she feels like there is a creature climbing up her back that tingly feeling. I also predict that something weird is going on with Phoebe's mom and that LUNATIC. I think they know something that everyone else doesn't know but wants to know. Another thing I predict is that Sal will get to Idaho in time for her moms birthday.
I think that Gloria is Mrs.Winterbottom. I think that because Sal is talking about Phoebe and she sounds just like Gloria, and her mom and her could be just alike, and we don't know her name so i think it is her.
OK well I agree with the people that say that Sal's mom had a miscaridge and that she left because of that. I also think that she left because she couldn't be as good as the hiddles. Also maybe her mom and dad had a fight that Sal didnt know of. Honestly Ben has a GIGANTIC crush on Sal.Seriously everyone can see that. I think that the lunatic is related to Pheobe's Family. I think that Sal wants to send her father post cards but never does. I think that Sal's dad moves in with Marget and they get married and Sal might have a new brother or sister. I think that Sal also has a crush on Ben and Mary Lou knows it, that both of them like each other and they get together. I think the Phoebe and one of Mary Lou's brothers like each other.

I think that Sal's dad and Margret are going tot fall in love and get married. I think that because when Sal's dad is with Margret he is always happy and smiling, but when he is home he seems sad and everything like that.

Sal and Ben are so going to fall in love. Phoebe's mom is either the Lunatic's lost love or is his long lost mom. I think Phoebe's mom will runaway with the lunatic or get kidnapped by him. I think Gram is going to get even more sick and will come close to dying but she won't because there will be a happy ending. Sal's mom is alive, but like Amira said she wasn't as good as a Hiddle, because she did something in her past that she won't forgive herself for. I also think she had a miscarriage, which made he not herself, and that is why she left.I think Mrs. Cadaver is not evil or anything, she is just lonely, so she gardens with Mr. Birkway, because he is lonely too. The journals that the kids do will cause problems, like the clue that they give us at the end of bouncing Birkway. I think that Sal's dad still cries and is very depressed whenever he thinks of Sal's mom, but she isn't dead, because they wouldn't be able to bring her body home, that would just be creepy. She would've known if she were dead, no family would keep something like that from her. I think Mrs. Partridge might disappear or die so that Phoebe gets even more suspicious and start investigating her and dragging Sal along and if Phoebe's mom id missing, she will tie them in and think that the Lunatic and Mrs. Cadaver are a team. Done. Wow.

I think that Mrs. Cadaver will use the axe that she bought to cut down a tree for fire wood. And she will make a fire for Sal, Margret, and Sal's dad to sit around and start a new life. I also think that Ben will get hurt and Sal will help him and with her native american skills she will heal him.
Phoebe might start thinking that Mr. Birkway and Mrs. Cadaver will try to kill Sal or her father. Phoebe might be anxious about keeping secrets from her father as well. I also agree with Baylee that the axe is going to be only used for chopping down trees.

17-19 1.I think that the lunatic will keep following Sal and Phoebe 2.I think maybe the reason that Sal’s dad got in contact with Mrs. Cadaver is because they signed up for letter writing in a group of people that have lost family members 3.Sal will write about the lunatic in her journal 4.Mr. Birkway will go missing and Phoebe will think it is Mrs. Cadaver’s fault. 5.Sal will find out why her mom always felt like she was competing with her dad to do go things 6.Sal will start writing to Tom Fleet 7.Phoebe will relate to Sal and ask her for advice when her mom goes missing 8.Mrs. W realizes why the Lunatic is writing the letters in her epiphany 9.Mr. W is cheating on his wife 10.Mrs. W is cheating on her husband 11.Mrs. W is scared of Mr. W for something that happened in the past 12.Sal will team up with P, Ben, and ML to figure out the lunatic and Cadaver, and find ways that they might piece together 13.Mrs. Cadaver is actually a person on parole from jail and that is why Sal’s dad wants to tell Sal

1.I think Gram will get even sicker or die along the trip. (Probably not die, but get really sick and come close to.) 2.Mrs. Winterbottom will disappear like Sal’s mom 3.Ben and Sal will fall in love 4.Mrs. Cadaver isn’t bad person, she is just lonely 5.Mrs. Cadaver is friends with Mr. Birkway because he is also lonely. 6.The journals that they have to do bring up something really bad (not sure what) 7.Sal will continue to find out more about her mother’s past, and try to piece together why she left 8.Phoebe’s family will learn to not rely on Mrs. W as much as they do. 9.Mrs. Winterbottom will have a breakdown due to no one appreciating her and the lunatic. 10.We will learn why Sal’s dad was crying (It was probably due to something about her mom that she hasn’t mentioned to us yet) 11.We learn the whole story with Gloria and Grams that happens to be very similar to Sal’s.

Sorry for the delay!! Here are my thoughts on the chapters we read for homework, wit ha recap at the bottom. I will warn you that some are very strange, but here goes:
Chapters 20-22 Predictions
1.Mrs. W ran away with the lunatic because he is her lover or long lost son. 2.Mr. W doesn’t really love Mrs. W. 3.Phoebe is going to keep attempting to track down where her mother is. 4.Phoebe will fail when attempting to find her mom. 5.Ben and Sal are soul mates!!!!!!!!! 6.Phoebe will call the police without telling her dad. 7.Sal is on the trip because her dad and Mrs. Cadaver are on their honeymoon or Sal is on the trip because her dad is going to surprise Sal by moving back to Bybanks. 8.Phoebe’s mom set everything up so that they can teach themselves how to fend on their own. 9.Phoebe’s mom won’t come back till the end of the book 10.Because of her mom not being present, Phoebe will learn to loosen up and not be so uptight. 11.Phoebe will become very depressed, but Sal will help her become Phoebe again. 12.Prudence will mature now that her mom isn’t there. 13.Sal will finally open up to Phoebe about her mom. 14.Sal will open up period to Ben, and he will do the same, and they’ll find out that they have a lot in common. 15.Ben will leave at the end of the book, and he and Sal will have a romantic, tearful goodbye (I know… I’m over dramatic). 16.Mr. W will move on and almost get married again, but Phoebe will get her mom back just in time. 17.Sal will reunite with her mom, but she won’t be able to take her home because she doesn’t want to leave. 18.Sal’s mom will ask Sal to stay with her, but Sal goes back to her dad. 19.Sal and Margaret will end up being very close. 20.Phoebe will tie in Mr. Birkway and Margaret with her mother’s disappearance, but it will be for a good reason. 21.Mr. Birkway is in love with Mrs. Cadaver. 22.If Sal’s dad doesn’t get married to Margaret, Mr. Birkway will. 23.Ben will finally make it to kissing Sal on the lips. (He won’t miss!) 24.Sal will continue to write about her mom in her journal.
Things that happened: •Sal writes about her mother in her first journal. •Phoebe’s mom disappears •Ben kisses Sal again. •When the class is given an assignment to draw their souls, Sal and Ben’s are identical. •Phoebe starts to investigate her mom’s disappearance.

18- I think Sals mom is leaving the messages because is sounded like everyone was mean to her when she left.
19- I think the lunatic knows Mrs. Winterbottom. I think t is weird how he keeps asking for her.
20- I think Phoebe's mom went where Sals mom went. I think at the end, both the girls will find their moms together.
21- I think the way that both Sals and Ben's "soul" means that they are going to fall in love. I think the teardrop one is Phoebes because of her mom.
22- I think the Winterbottoms will eventually call the police. I think she went away because everyone was being mean to her and she couldn't take it anymore.
I think that Mrs. Winterbottom left because she felt unimportant. She feels like that because no one appreciates what she does for everyone. She is feels that she can't tell her husband, Mr. Winterbottom, because she didn't want to tell him about the letters that they have been receiving.
I think a few days after her mom left Phoebe, when Phoebe is detecting i predict that she will find a clue that will help her get close to why her mom left. I do also predict that Ms. Winterbottom will come back but has a surprise.
I also think that deep, deep, deep down Sal really like Ben and they should go out. They seem that they really like each other, but they don't show it when they are in public. If Sal didn't like Ben then she would have pulled away and slapped Ben..... DUHHHHH, or she was lost in the moment and the scent of his hair was at the her with the nice scent of grapefruit. Then what was with the picture of her as a salamander. I thought that that was not nice that he did that. I didn't get why she gave the picture back to Ben. I still am confused because she gave it back to him, I have never figured it out. So it is still a mystery to why she did that and why she never pulled back and just let him kiss her collar bone.
I think that Ms. Winterbottom (is that how you spell it) left because of the same reason Sal's mom left : she didnt feel appreciated what so ever! I think that after a few days Sal will come clean and tell Pheobe that her mom left. I think that the journals they have to write for Mr. Birkway is kind of like Advisory. I think that cause i think they share their feelings there.
Also Syd and everyone else i love your predictions. This book is so hard to put down. I think in the next couple of chapters Sal will tell Pheobe about her life. I also think she will start writing to Tom Fleet.
She also might go out with Ben or he will try to kiss her.
Here is a quick rant about Phoebe before I post my predictions and summary : )
Ok. Phoebe is being a total brat at this point in the book. I get that her mom is missing, but that doesn't give her the right to be all nasty when she sleeps-over at Sal's house. When she gives her little Pandora speech and she was hinting to Sal, Mary Lou, and Ben that they were being rude, I thought that she was being a hypocrite. If she thinks that she was the victim in any of those instances, she is sadly mistaken. They all had to put up with her snobby attitude. Once again, I get that she is going through a lot, but she was horrible to all of them. I don't get why Phoebe thinks so highly of herself anyway. Was she spoiled too much her whole life, or is it just her? You could say that she was brought up that way, but I think Prudence is just a little whiny sometimes, but not bratty. What do you guys think? I want to know if you agree, disagree, think I'm insane, whatever.

Hey guys! Here are my new predictions with summaries of what happened.
Summaries:
Chapter 23- Sal recalls her mother's pregnancy and miscarriage while visiting the Badlands. She reveals that she believes that the miscarriage was her fault because she fell from a tree and broke her arm, and her mom carried her back to the house. Sal says she thinks it may have been the way she picked her up and carried her. Her mom wouldn't top bleeding, so she had to have a surgery so she couldn't have kids anymore.
24: The gang sets off for the Black Hills and Mount Rushmore. Sal continues the story of Phoebe. Phoebe receives another message (You can’t keep the birds of sadness from flying over your head, but you can keep them from nesting in your hair). Lastly, Phoebe and Sal are invited to Mary Lou’s for dinner.
25: At dinner, Phoebe makes a huge deal out of not eating things with cholesterol for dinner and ends up eating dry muesli. Sal invites Phoebe to sleepover.
26: While Phoebe is over at Sal’s house, she keeps being rude and talking about sacrifices made for guests (“guests deserve the best”), which drives Sal insane, but she still remains nice to Phoebe.
27: Phoebe’s mom contacts Mrs. Cadaver and tells that she’ll be home Monday and that she is okay. Phoebe gives her report on Pandora, and gives hidden messages within the report to Sal, Mary Lou, and Ben (she was just being bratty about stuff). Sal ponders the story of Pandora and her box.
28: Sal and her grandparents visit Black Hills and Mount Rushmore. They end up in Wyoming and head of to Yellowstone Park to see Old Faithful.
29: Phoebe reports her mother missing to the police, which upset her father.
Predictions: 1. I don’t think Phoebe’s mom will come back by Monday. 2. Phoebe will continue to grow suspicious of Mrs. Cadaver. 3. Sal will continue to try to make Phoebe feel better. 4. Phoebe will continue to be upset and bratty about her mom disappearing. 5. Sal will plan something to make Phoebe feel better. 6. Gram will continue to get sick and end up in the hospital again, and she, Gramps, and Sal will come close to not making it to Lewiston in time for Sugar’s birthday. 7. Gram will see Sal’s mom, and die a little after. 8. Sal will see her mom and things will be cleared up, like why she left. 9. Sal’s Mom will not come home with them. 10. Phoebe will have an epiphany that she has been receiving the messages, and that she has to keep the birds of sadness from nesting in her hair. 11. Ben is sending the messages to Phoebe because she is stuck up, and they are telling her to loosen up. 12. Phoebe will set off to find her mom by herself and bring Sal with. 13. Phoebe’s mom will come home at the very end of the book. 14. Phoebe will track down the lunatic 15. The lunatic is with Phoebe’s mom. 16. The “lunatic” is harmless. 17. Phoebe doesn’t know, but Mrs. Cadaver and her mom are best friends. 18. If Gram dies, Gramps will move in with Sal 19. If Gram lives, she and Gramps will travel the world together. 20. Something will happen to Gram at Old Faithful. 21. Phoebe’s dad knows why Mrs. W left, but is hiding it from Phoebe. 22. Mrs. Cadaver and Phoebe will clear up heir problems and become close. 23. Phoebe will become very judgmental of Mary Lou’ family, and then Mary Lou will tell her off. 24. Mary Lou/Sal and Phoebe will get in a big fight. 25. Sal almost gives up on Phoebe as a friend. 26. Sal will tell Phoebe off, too. 27. Ben will tell Sal to become friends with Phoebe again if they get in a fight. 28. Phoebe is going to runaway because she thinks everyone is against her. 29. Sal will go find Phoebe if she runs away. 30. If Sal goes to find Phoebe, she will find Mrs. W. 31. The Winterbottom case will actually become very big and it will make headlines.
I'm really sorry that my summaries were a bit longer today. I couldn't help myself.
Now for something somewhat random. Does anybody think that Mary Lou is kind of odd? I love her character, but she is really quirky. I love all the random things that she says sometimes. I also love that her family is just as funny as her.

I really didn't like the book because I think that it is going just a little to slow. I think that Sal's mother wanted to like Ms. Finny, lot of children.
I think that because Phoebe's mother went away that Phoebe will just jump to the worst conclusion with everything, like she might start to think that maybe her mother is dead.
I wonder why Phoebe's dada wasn't mad at Phoebe and Sal for going to talk to the police about her mother going away. I think Phoebe's dad is worried too.
I think Phoebe's mother went away because the way Phoebe and Prudence treat her um fair. They talk back to there mother and they don't respect her and she does so much for them.
Are you guys excited to finish the book? I'm pretty sure that Mrs.W will come back. I'm also pretty positive that Gram is going to die. I really hoping that Phoebe loosens up because she is REALLY bugging me.

Hey guys! Here are my new summaries and predictions for the chapters we just read. I’m really excited to finish this book, and with these last two chapters, I feel like I’ve learned ten thousand things! Here they are:
Chapter 30- Breaking In
Phoebe and Sal break into Mrs. Cadaver’s house and run into Mrs. Partridge. They talk, and Mrs. Partridge mentions meeting Phoebe’s brother. Does Phoebe have one? Also, Sal realizes that she and Phoebe really need to find Mrs. W. she finally realizes that Mr. W loves and cares about Mrs. W because of when he cried.
Chapter 31- The Photograph
Phoebe finds another message on her porch that says, “You don’t know the worth of water until the well is dry” (I think it means that you don’t know how special something is till its gone, referring to how badly the Winterbottoms treated Mrs. W). Mr. Birkway reads Mary Lou’s personal journal to everyone in the class and they get mad at her. After school Phoebe and Sal go to the police to drop of more evidence to Sergeant Bickle. Sal looks at all the pictures on his desk, and sees some and one is him, a woman (his wife) and their son. She looked closer and realized that the son was the lunatic!
Predictions
1. THE LUNATIC IS MRS. WINTERBOTTOM’S SON!!!!!!!! 2. Bickle and Mrs. W had an affair or were together before. 3. The lunatic is close with Mrs. Partridge. 4. Mr. and Mrs. W had a fight before she left and that is why he is so upset. 5. Ben and Sal are going to become super close and go out. 6. Ben’s mom abandoned him too. 7. The lunatic will move in with the Winterbottoms in the end. 8. Phoebe will be brought to a mental hospital (I wish). 9. Mrs. W will come back only if her family promises to help her out a little more. 10. Mr. Birkway will read more Mary Lou’s journal and everyone in the class will be mad at her. 11. Sal will have a choice to go back to Bybanks or stay in Euclid and she won’t be able to decide. 12. Mrs. Partridge is leaving the messages on the porch (Hey, she’s wise enough and she is suspiciously not in the story that much)
Some of those I may have repeated, and others are way out there. Anyway, see you all Monday!
I have a feeling that the lunatic is Phoebes brother, because Mrs. Partridge said the she meet phoebes brother, and then Phoebe said she did not have one at all.???!!! MYSTERY!!!
I think that the police officer has a child that isn't his wife's and that it was a past relationship that he made up, but really it is Mrs. Winterbottoms child. He kept it a deep dark secret because he is a retard and because he afraid of being away for Mrs. Winterbottom. Mrs. Winterbottom obviously knows it is hers but also doesn't want to tell his wife. Oh right, I also think he is Mrs. Winterbottom's child because he went to go to see Mrs. Winterbottom that fine, strange day. I mean like did Mrs. Winterbottom know that he waws coming to see him? Does she even fully know that that is her child. Maybe she pt him up for adoption because he was a mistake and the police officer was the dad. Then I think that he tracked him down to his adoption center and adopted him and then eventually got married.
I think that the Lunatic had nothing to do with the kidnapping and it's just a coincidence that Mrs. Cadaver has a sword. Phoebe is overreacting (once again). Sal is "losing control of her lips" and I think she will end up dating Ben
Remember when Sal listed things in the middle of the book of what she is scared of? Well one of them was pregnant woman and her mom was pregnant. I think that all of the things she is scared of of are thing that deal with her mother.
I think that Phoebe has a bother but was never told. I think that Mrs.Winterbottom and Sergeant Bickle had that son together and they now both are remarried.
I think that Mrs.Winterbottom left because she had a secret son that she didn't want anyone to know about because Mrs.Partrige told Phoebe that she say her brother.
Know that I am rereading the book in like the first she was acting a little like Pheobe when she is making a big deal about the i patch of grass and that there were no trees wat so ever. She was like Pheobe spazing out about her cholesterol.
I think that if Sal actually got to know how Margret and John* met then I think that she wouldn't let anything that Phoebe was saying about her get to her.
You remember when everybody was saying comments about her hair and there was that one person who said, “Can you sit on it.” I think that that was Ben who shouted that out. Even though she didn't know him doesn't mean it wasn;t him. Do you remember when Ben drew that picture of Salamander Sittinf on Her Hair, well before that he asked if she could sit on it. It might of not clicked because there were so many people talking.
Well when Gram interupted her, Sal had some sort of spaze attack when she said that her mother couldn't be a hiddle just because she married one. I myself thought that was plain rude of her, but i could understand where she was coming from because in the begining of the trip she was unsure s she wanted to see her mother/

32: MR.BIRKWAY IS MRS.CADAVER'S TWIN BROTHER!!!! GAH!!!! Mr. Birkway later apologizes about the journals, but read's Sal's about Blackberry kisses. She gets really embarrassed. Then Mr. Birkway read's Phoebe's about Mrs. Cadaver being an axe murderer.
33: Mr. Birkway tells Phoebe Mrs. Cadaver's story. He died in a car crash, and Mrs. Partridge was with him, and that's how she got blinded. Mrs. Cadaver was at the hospital working when her mom and husband were brought in (*tear*). Sal tells Phoebe that the lunatic is Sergeant Bickle's son.
34: Sal, Gram and Gramps see Old Faithful.
35: Sal and Phoebe track down the lunatic, named Mike, and plan to his collage to see him.
36: on Saturday, Phoebe and Sal go to the bus stop to head to Chanting Falls, and Ben is there too. He is going to the hospital to see somebody. Phoebe and Sal go to the University, and find Phoebe and the lunatic kissing.
37: Sal goes to the hospital to see Ben, and he his in the Psychiatric ward with his mother, who is there. They finally kiss!!!!!!!!
38: Sal finds Phoebe at the buss stop. She talks about her mom spitting on the grass, her new look, and why she doesn’t care anymore. They go back to Phoebe’s house, and Prudence says she got a call from her mom saying she would be home on Monday.
39: Phoebe’s mom comes home and reveals that the lunatic is her long lost son. Mrs. Partridge is the message leaver!!!!!!!
40: Mrs. Partridge said that she had been leaving the messages on the steps for fun. She leaves the message about the moccasins again by accident. Ben gets Sal a chicken, lays another kiss on her, and tells her that he named it Blackberry.
41: Gram has a stroke. Gramps tells Sal that Gram would want her to go on without them, so Gramps gives Sal the keys to the car, and she starts driving to her mom. She stops at an overlook, and a man tells Sal to tell whoever’s driving to be careful about an area by Lewiston because there was a bus crash and only 1 person survived. Sal knows.
OMG! Okay, since the book is practically over, I only have a couple of predictions.
1. Sal’s mom is the 1 who survived or she is one of the many who died. 2. Gram will most likely die : ( 3. Someone will catch Sal driving. 4. Sal’s dad and Margret get married!!!!!! 5. Ben and Sal hook up officially!
1. i think that Sugar and Margret were in the same bus and then that eventually crashed. And... Then when Sugar had her last moments she told her to send Sal and John* that she would never come back. But... She said not to say why.
I loved the book I think that there could have been more messages. I also think that mrs.cadaver should have gone on the trip that would have been good.
The book is over, but I have more predictions. I think that Ben and Phoebe will visit Sal. Ben will see Blackberry. I think that Dad will move on with his life and stop looking back t Sugar.
When Ben and Phoebe visit, Sal will probably tell Ben and Phoebe about the trip and after that I think that Dad will visit Lewiston again. This book is sequelable.

I think that Sal and Phoebe will spy on Mrs. Cadaver. I think they would do this because they want to find out about Mrs. Cadavrar and they want to find out what happened to Mr.Cadavar.

I think that Sal's mom had a child, and that's why Sal's dad took her away to live by Margret. Then when Sal, Gram's and Gramp's get there, Sal will live with her mom.
I think that Sal's mom had a miscariage trying to do something nice, attempting to be as kind as a Hiddle. I think she got depressed, so she went of on roadtrip to clear her mind. I think she didn't want to go home and face the pain of memories, so she stayed in Lewiston.

I also think that Sal's mom never did give birth to her second child because Sal didn't mention anything about her sibling living with her mom.

Sal and Ben are so going to fall in love. Phoebe's mom is either the Lunatic's lost love or is his long lost mom. I think Phoebe's mom will runaway with the lunatic or get kidnapped by him. I think Gram is going to get even more sick and will come close to dying but she won't because there will be a happy ending. Sal's mom is alive, but like Amira said she wasn't as good as a Hiddle, because she did something in her past that she won't forgive herself for. I also think she had a miscarriage, which made he not herself, and that is why she left.I think Mrs. Cadaver is not evil or anything, she is just lonely, so she gardens with Mr. Birkway, because he is lonely too. The journals that the kids do will cause problems, like the clue that they give us at the end of bouncing Birkway. I think that Sal's dad still cries and is very depressed whenever he thinks of Sal's mom, but she isn't dead, because they wouldn't be able to bring her body home, that would just be creepy. She would've known if she were dead, no family would keep something like that from her. I think Mrs. Partridge might disappear or die so that Phoebe gets even more suspicious and start investigating her and dragging Sal along and if Phoebe's mom id missing, she will tie them in and think that the Lunatic and Mrs. Cadaver are a team. Done. Wow.

Sorry for the delay!! Here are my thoughts on the chapters we read for homework, wit ha recap at the bottom. I will warn you that some are very strange, but here goes:
Chapters 20-22
Predictions
1.Mrs. W ran away with the lunatic because he is her lover or long lost son.
2.Mr. W doesn’t really love Mrs. W.
3.Phoebe is going to keep attempting to track down where her mother is.
4.Phoebe will fail when attempting to find her mom.
5.Ben and Sal are soul mates!!!!!!!!!
6.Phoebe will call the police without telling her dad.
7.Sal is on the trip because her dad and Mrs. Cadaver are on their honeymoon or Sal is on the trip because her dad is going to surprise Sal by moving back to Bybanks.
8.Phoebe’s mom set everything up so that they can teach themselves how to fend on their own.
9.Phoebe’s mom won’t come back till the end of the book
10.Because of her mom not being present, Phoebe will learn to loosen up and not be so uptight.
11.Phoebe will become very depressed, but Sal will help her become Phoebe again.
12.Prudence will mature now that her mom isn’t there.
13.Sal will finally open up to Phoebe about her mom.
14.Sal will open up period to Ben, and he will do the same, and they’ll find out that they have a lot in common.
15.Ben will leave at the end of the book, and he and Sal will have a romantic, tearful goodbye (I know… I’m over dramatic).

I think that Mrs. Winterbottom left because she felt unimportant. She feels like that because no one appreciates what she does for everyone. She is feels that she can't tell her husband, Mr. Winterbottom, because she didn't want to tell him about the letters that they have been receiving.

I think a few days after her mom left Phoebe, when Phoebe is detecting i predict that she will find a clue that will help her get close to why her mom left. I do also predict that Ms. Winterbottom will come back but has a surprise.
I also think that deep, deep, deep down Sal really like Ben and they should go out. They seem that they really like each other, but they don't show it when they are in public. If Sal didn't like Ben then she would have pulled away and slapped Ben..... DUHHHHH, or she was lost in the moment and the scent of his hair was at the her with the nice scent of grapefruit. Then what was with the picture of her as a salamander. I thought that that was not nice that he did that. I didn't get why she gave the picture back to Ben. I still am confused because she gave it back to him, I have never figured it out. So it is still a mystery to why she did that and why she never pulled back and just let him kiss her collar bone.

I think that Ms. Winterbottom (is that how you spell it) left because of the same reason Sal's mom left : she didnt feel appreciated what so ever! I think that after a few days Sal will come clean and tell Pheobe that her mom left. I think that the journals they have to write for Mr. Birkway is kind of like Advisory. I think that cause i think they share their feelings there.
Also Syd and everyone else i love your predictions. This book is so hard to put down. I think in the next couple of chapters Sal will tell Pheobe about her life. I also think she will start writing to Tom Fleet.
She also might go out with Ben or he will try to kiss her.
Here is a quick rant about Phoebe before I post my predictions and summary : )
Ok. Phoebe is being a total brat at this point in the book. I get that her mom is missing, but that doesn't give her the right to be all nasty when she sleeps-over at Sal's house. When she gives her little Pandora speech and she was hinting to Sal, Mary Lou, and Ben that they were being rude, I thought that she was being a hypocrite. If she thinks that she was the victim in any of those instances, she is sadly mistaken. They all had to put up with her snobby attitude. Once again, I get that she is going through a lot, but she was horrible to all of them. I don't get why Phoebe thinks so highly of herself anyway. Was she spoiled too much her whole life, or is it just her? You could say that she was brought up that way, but I think Prudence is just a little whiny sometimes, but not bratty. What do you guys think? I want to know if you agree, disagree, think I'm insane, whatever.

Here are my new predictions with summaries of what happened.
Summaries:
Chapter 23-
Sal recalls her mother's pregnancy and miscarriage while visiting the Badlands. She reveals that she believes that the miscarriage was her fault because she fell from a tree and broke her arm, and her mom carried her back to the house. Sal says she thinks it may have been the way she picked her up and carried her. Her mom wouldn't top bleeding, so she had to have a surgery so she couldn't have kids anymore.
24:
The gang sets off for the Black Hills and Mount Rushmore. Sal continues the story of Phoebe. Phoebe receives another message (You can’t keep the birds of sadness from flying over your head, but you can keep them from nesting in your hair). Lastly, Phoebe and Sal are invited to Mary Lou’s for dinner.
25:
At dinner, Phoebe makes a huge deal out of not eating things with cholesterol for dinner and ends up eating dry muesli. Sal invites Phoebe to sleepover.
26:
While Phoebe is over at Sal’s house, she keeps being rude and talking about sacrifices made for guests (“guests deserve the best”), which drives Sal insane, but she still remains nice to Phoebe.
27:
Phoebe’s mom contacts Mrs. Cadaver and tells that she’ll be home Monday and that she is okay. Phoebe gives her report on Pandora, and gives hidden messages within the report to Sal, Mary Lou, and Ben (she was just being bratty about stuff). Sal ponders the story of Pandora and her box.

Sal and her grandparents visit Black Hills and Mount Rushmore. They end up in Wyoming and head of to Yellowstone Park to see Old Faithful.

Does anybody think that Mary Lou is kind of odd? I love her character, but she is really quirky. I love all the random things that she says sometimes. I also love that her family is just as funny as her.

This book is incredible, but i could not imagine what happened to Sals mom and her 2nd Baby.
I really didn't like the book because I think that it is going just a little to slow. I think that Sal's mother wanted to like Ms. Finny, lot of children.
I think that Sal's dad and Margret are going to get married.
I think that because Phoebe's mother went away that Phoebe will just jump to the worst conclusion with everything, like she might start to think that maybe her mother is dead.
I think that Sal and Ben are going to start going out!
Sal want to be their in time for her mother birthday. I thin that she is going to get her a gift. I think that the gift is a special necklace.
I wonder why Phoebe's dada wasn't mad at Phoebe and Sal for going to talk to the police about her mother going away. I think Phoebe's dad is worried too.
I think Phoebe's mother went away because the way Phoebe and Prudence treat her um fair. They talk back to there mother and they don't respect her and she does so much for them.
I think that Phoebes mother left to the same place Sal's mother is at and they know each other.

Hey guys! Here are my new summaries and predictions for the chapters we just read. I’m really excited to finish this book, and with these last two chapters, I feel like I’ve learned ten thousand things! Here they are:
Chapter 30- Breaking In
Phoebe and Sal break into Mrs. Cadaver’s house and run into Mrs. Partridge. They talk, and Mrs. Partridge mentions meeting Phoebe’s brother. Does Phoebe have one? Also, Sal realizes that she and Phoebe really need to find Mrs. W. she finally realizes that Mr. W loves and cares about Mrs. W because of when he cried.
Chapter 31- The Photograph
Phoebe finds another message on her porch that says, “You don’t know the worth of water until the well is dry” (I think it means that you don’t know how special something is till its gone, referring to how badly the Winterbottoms treated Mrs. W). Mr. Birkway reads Mary Lou’s personal journal to everyone in the class and they get mad at her. After school Phoebe and Sal go to the police to drop of more evidence to Sergeant Bickle. Sal looks at all the pictures on his desk, and sees some and one is him, a woman (his wife) and their son. She looked closer and realized that the son was the lunatic!
Predictions
1. THE LUNATIC IS MRS. WINTERBOTTOM’S SON!!!!!!!!
2. Bickle and Mrs. W had an affair or were together before.
3. The lunatic is close with Mrs. Partridge.
4. Mr. and Mrs. W had a fight before she left and that is why he is so upset.
5. Ben and Sal are going to become super close and go out.
6. Ben’s mom abandoned him too.
7. The lunatic will move in with the Winterbottoms in the end.
8. Phoebe will be brought to a mental hospital (I wish).
9. Mrs. W will come back only if her family promises to help her out a little more.
10. Mr. Birkway will read more Mary Lou’s journal and everyone in the class will be mad at her.
11. Sal will have a choice to go back to Bybanks or stay in Euclid and she won’t be able to decide.
12. Mrs. Partridge is leaving the messages on the porch (Hey, she’s wise enough and she is suspiciously not in the story that much)
Some of those I may have repeated, and others are way out there. Anyway, see you all Monday!
I have a feeling that the lunatic is Phoebes brother, because Mrs. Partridge said the she meet phoebes brother, and then Phoebe said she did not have one at all.???!!! MYSTERY!!!
I also think that Ms. Cadaver is not an axe murder. It is just phoebes imagination. I wish Phoebe would give Ms. Cadaver a chance.
I also predict that Ms. Winterbottom will come back. :-)

I think that the police officer has a child that isn't his wife's and that it was a past relationship that he made up, but really it is Mrs. Winterbottoms child. He kept it a deep dark secret because he is a retard and because he afraid of being away for Mrs. Winterbottom. Mrs. Winterbottom obviously knows it is hers but also doesn't want to tell his wife. Oh right, I also think he is Mrs. Winterbottom's child because he went to go to see Mrs. Winterbottom that fine, strange day. I mean like did Mrs. Winterbottom know that he waws coming to see him? Does she even fully know that that is her child. Maybe she pt him up for adoption because he was a mistake and the police officer was the dad. Then I think that he tracked him down to his adoption center and adopted him and then eventually got married.
I think that the Lunatic had nothing to do with the kidnapping and it's just a coincidence that Mrs. Cadaver has a sword. Phoebe is overreacting (once again). Sal is "losing control of her lips" and I think she will end up dating Ben
I think that the lunatic is Phoebe's older brother.
Remember when Sal listed things in the middle of the book of what she is scared of? Well one of them was pregnant woman and her mom was pregnant. I think that all of the things she is scared of of are thing that deal with her mother.
I think that Phoebe has a bother but was never told. I think that Mrs.Winterbottom and Sergeant Bickle had that son together and they now both are remarried.
I think that Phoebe's mom comes back but Sal's mom never does because she is dead.
I think that Mrs.Winterbottom left because she had a secret son that she didn't want anyone to know about because Mrs.Partrige told Phoebe that she say her brother.

Know that I am rereading the book in like the first she was acting a little like Pheobe when she is making a big deal about the i patch of grass and that there were no trees wat so ever. She was like Pheobe spazing out about her cholesterol.
Do you think that Sal would still be their favorite grandchild?
I think that if Sal actually got to know how Margret and John* met then I think that she wouldn't let anything that Phoebe was saying about her get to her.

You remember when everybody was saying comments about her hair and there was that one person who said, “Can you sit on it.” I think that that was Ben who shouted that out. Even though she didn't know him doesn't mean it wasn;t him. Do you remember when Ben drew that picture of Salamander Sittinf on Her Hair, well before that he asked if she could sit on it. It might of not clicked because there were so many people talking.
Well when Gram interupted her, Sal had some sort of spaze attack when she said that her mother couldn't be a hiddle just because she married one. I myself thought that was plain rude of her, but i could understand where she was coming from because in the begining of the trip she was unsure s she wanted to see her mother/
Well Sugar's real name is Chanhassen, but it means sweet tree juice. I don't see why she doesn't get annoyed by people calling her by another name. I mean I would get annoyed, but I don't mind people calling me toni

Well when Phoebe is saying that Mrs. Cadaver was some sort of crazy axe murderer.
TO me it seems like Sal is very gulable because she believed every wore that Phoebe said.
Well I think Gramps isnt the brightest when it comes to machanics but when it comes to listen his ears are all open. :)
so it seems like they are more or less like the Pickfords.
It seems like bye the littl ethings that happen trigger a lot of memorries for Sal. :) They may be good or bad, happy or sad, angry or cheerful.

Lol, anyway, I'm soooooo shocked about everything that just happened!
32:
MR.BIRKWAY IS MRS.CADAVER'S TWIN BROTHER!!!! GAH!!!! Mr. Birkway later apologizes about the journals, but read's Sal's about Blackberry kisses. She gets really embarrassed. Then Mr. Birkway read's Phoebe's about Mrs. Cadaver being an axe murderer.
33: Mr. Birkway tells Phoebe Mrs. Cadaver's story. He died in a car crash, and Mrs. Partridge was with him, and that's how she got blinded. Mrs. Cadaver was at the hospital working when her mom and husband were brought in (*tear*). Sal tells Phoebe that the lunatic is Sergeant Bickle's son.
34: Sal, Gram and Gramps see Old Faithful.
35: Sal and Phoebe track down the lunatic, named Mike, and plan to his collage to see him.
36: on Saturday, Phoebe and Sal go to the bus stop to head to Chanting Falls, and Ben is there too. He is going to the hospital to see somebody. Phoebe and Sal go to the University, and find Phoebe and the lunatic kissing.
37: Sal goes to the hospital to see Ben, and he his in the Psychiatric ward with his mother, who is there. They finally kiss!!!!!!!!
38: Sal finds Phoebe at the buss stop. She talks about her mom spitting on the grass, her new look, and why she doesn’t care anymore. They go back to Phoebe’s house, and Prudence says she got a call from her mom saying she would be home on Monday.
39: Phoebe’s mom comes home and reveals that the lunatic is her long lost son. Mrs. Partridge is the message leaver!!!!!!!
40: Mrs. Partridge said that she had been leaving the messages on the steps for fun. She leaves the message about the moccasins again by accident. Ben gets Sal a chicken, lays another kiss on her, and tells her that he named it Blackberry.
41: Gram has a stroke. Gramps tells Sal that Gram would want her to go on without them, so Gramps gives Sal the keys to the car, and she starts driving to her mom. She stops at an overlook, and a man tells Sal to tell whoever’s driving to be careful about an area by Lewiston because there was a bus crash and only 1 person survived. Sal knows.
OMG! Okay, since the book is practically over, I only have a couple of predictions.
1. Sal’s mom is the 1 who survived or she is one of the many who died.
2. Gram will most likely die : (
3. Someone will catch Sal driving.
4. Sal’s dad and Margret get married!!!!!!
5. Ben and Sal hook up officially!

Predictions
1. i think that Sugar and Margret were in the same bus and then that eventually crashed. And... Then when Sugar had her last moments she told her to send Sal and John* that she would never come back. But... She said not to say why.
I think that when Sal gets to Lewiston, she will find out that her mother pasted away.
I think that Sal's grandmother will survive.
I think they are going to get there in time for Sal's moms birthday.
I loved the book I think that there could have been more messages. I also think that mrs.cadaver should have gone on the trip that would have been good.
The book is over, but I have more predictions. I think that Ben and Phoebe will visit Sal. Ben will see Blackberry. I think that Dad will move on with his life and stop looking back t Sugar.
When Ben and Phoebe visit, Sal will probably tell Ben and Phoebe about the trip and after that I think that Dad will visit Lewiston again. This book is sequelable.
I think that Sal will tell Ben and Pheobe that her mother died and relate her story to pheobes.If there was a sequal to the story that would be mine.
Walk two moons was a really good book at first but it was disappointing at the end when we found out Sal's mother was actually dead.
